The 300 hour Master Teacher Training Program at Inner Vision Yoga consists of four modules, each of which has a philosophical focus and includes asana, anatomy, study of the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, other texts, and other modalities appropriate to that focus.
Students may begin with any module.
You are encouraged to complete all classes or their equivalent within 2 years from the date you start the program. Missed classes may be made up with alternate workshops, special assignments and/or repeated classes in future module. We will work with you to provide every opportunity to finish this program successfully on all levels.
Each module includes several basic components. The four modules total approximately 240 class hours. Additional hours, including guided practices, practicum, and independent work are described on the Program Overview: Hours and Assignments sheet.
Specific topics included in each component are mentioned below.
- Introduction to module (1.5 class hours).
- One chapter of the Yoga Sutras, including 3 hrs focusing on the text and 3 hrs focusing on experiential learning.
- One major topic from the Bhagavad Gita (and Upanishads) including 2-3 hrs focusing on the text and 3 hrs focusing on experiential learning.
- One category of asana, including 3 hours of technical and experiential anatomy, 3 hours of posture work, 3 hours of adjustment work with each other, and a 2 hour adjustment workshop working with beginning teacher trainers and/or the public.
- Two or three other topics (8-15 hours each).
- Module wrapup and conclusions (1 hour).
