The Motion of Presence is a movement workshop that connects participants to the joy of motion in glorious fashion! This movement workshop offers an exciting opportunity to expand vocabularies of expression and reach into new creative realms. Improvisation connects us to the present moment in profound ways. Dr. Susan Bendix is a modern dancer, choreographer, improvisational movement artist and dance scholar who has performed nationally and internationally. She has worked in depth in Action Theater and is a master movement improvisation teacher. Susan has been a teaching artist with the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and Director of Dance at Herrera School for the Fine Arts to name a partial list. Susan was the recipient of a 2015 Arizona Commission on the Arts Project Grant to design a movement-based program for people experiencing grief and loss. Susan was honored with the 2011 Outstanding Narrative Dissertation Award conferred by the American Educational Research Association for her groundbreaking work in dance education.
